Hi. I’m weird, but I’m fun.

Into the looking glass…

Growing up, books where everything. I devoured them the way most kids were devouring cartoons and candy.

My mom once told me a story in which she took me to Toys R Us when I was about five and told me I could have anything I wanted. She expected me to pick out some new Barbies or an epic Barbie Dream House, but instead I wandered over to the little book section and chose a book. Singular.

I’m told she tried to encourage me to pick out a toy, but that I only wanted a book. In the end, she says I left Toys R Us — mecca that it was for a kid born in the 80s — with no Barbie Dream House, but with five new books.

As I got older, my love for books didn’t diminish. I was definitely the kid who loved silent reading time at school (D.E.A.R, anyone?) and who lived for summer reading challenges. I remember wanting to read everything I could get my hands on, whether it was the junk mail left on the dining room table or the back of the cereal box over breakfast.

When it came to stories, I was hooked.

Military Brat to Military Spouse

For as long as I can remember, my existence has been a series of moves every few years.

From exploring castles in Europe to spending summers in the Caribbean to discovering hidden gems in Japan. I’ve lived across three countries and seven states (though I’ve visited more than half of them at this point).

I’ve even gotten to wander the winding roads of Middle Earth.

All of this traveling has lead me to believe one very fundamental thing about this world: magic exists, if you know where to look for it.

I explore my work and writing the way I have explored the world — with wonder, whimsy and a little romance.

It would be so nice if something made sense for a change…

Moving and always being the new kid is a lot like falling down the rabbit hole into Wonderland. Just when I got used to one place, we moved and everything was different again. I’d have to learn the ins and outs of not just a new school, but often an entirely new culture or even a new language.

It sucked sometimes, but I learned very early on how to adapt quickly to change. You could say I was pivoting long before Covid-era marketers where telling their clients to pivot…

Eventually, I would learn that always having to be the new kid provided me with an interesting skillset. Not only can I adapt to new situations quickly and calmly, but I have the ability to make honest and genuine connections with people from all walks of life.

Combining that skillset with my never-ending love of stories led me to work with tons of entrepreneurs, coaches and small businesses in a crazy variety of industries from digital marketing, to restaurants and minor league sports teams to authors, musicians and even tarot readers.

Once again, I was hooked.

Do you suppose she’s a wildflower?

Although my career is far from traditional, I believe that my eclectic experience is just another strength I bring to my work. I’m definitely looking at things differently and sometimes, that fresh perspective is everything.

Of course, I am more than the things listed on my resume. Like I said at the top of this page, I’m weird (but fun).

Did you know…

  • I love deep-diving down random rabbit holes and hyper-fixating on interesting topics.

  • When I say I love reading, I mean it. I read everything from business books to art books to comics to a whole hoard of fantasy and romance novels.

  • I’ve been catching Pokemon since the mid 90s, I’m still doing it. Please don’t ever ask me to pick my favorite Eeveelution.

  • I moonlight as an author. Sort of. I’m slowly rediscovering my love for writing fiction and hope to be published (again) by the end of 2024.

  • I went to clown school on a whim (and it taught me more about marketing than most of my college classes).

  • I’m more than slightly addicted to k-pop and am only typing this so we can either discuss favorite bands or so you will let me convert you into a fan…

  • My entire office is decorated in pastel rainbows and I have a slight Squishmallow addiction.

  • I love rice and don’t understand or recognize any diet craze that says rice is bad.

  • It all boils down to two main groups for me: BTS and SKZ, however, there are a lot of groups and artists I will listen to…I just happen to scream about those two groups the most.

SKZ got me into the world of KPOP and reconnecting with some friends introduced me to the loml — Jimin.

  • My previously published books are no longer for sale. Although I am actively writing, I have not published anything new as of yet. Subscribing to my newsletter is currently the easiest and most reliable way to stay updated on all book news.
